Last Night

I locked myself in the library for 4 1/2 hours last night and 2 hours this morning to work on a paper for my Economic Policy from Roosevelt to Reagan class.

Here's the start...
"David Wessel narrates the beginnings of the panic and how the Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Bernanke, wrestled with the onslaught of financial downturn in his book In Fed We Trust: Ben Bernanke’s War on the Great Panic—How the Federal Reserve became the Fourth Branch of Government.  Wessel argues that Bernanke’s scholarly background enabled him to enact economic policies that prevented the uniquely globalized economy from sliding into a financial panic of the same severity as the Great Depression—though some skeptics criticize Bernanke’s actions and the enlarged Fed supremacy that resulted."

Believe it or not, it was a fantastically fun and interesting paper to write.  Eight and a half pages of nerdy expression.
